This is an advise to all, be very careful in choosing Cohen Optical in Bayside! They will openly make you feel you are dishonest; an expensive prescription eye glasses purchased few months ago, gift from my husband, did not turn out the way it is expected to be used; I admitted it was my mistake, coming few months after; explained that this is only the first time I am using it, still brand new... I was just trying to receive credit for a box of contact lens that were defective.The clerk decided to review the note from my doctor and went in the back cameback took possession of the remaining box of unused contact lens and decided to give me credit for the purchase.The clerk told me it would take two weeks more for delivery of my new prescription.I had already waited more than to weeks... I came in with a groupon. The exam went fine. Trying to just pay for new lenses was a whole other story. All I wanted, was to keep my own frames and have the new prescription lenses inserted. On Feb. 2014 I came to your store and bought glasses, I added transition lenses and ultra violet for night light. at that time I paid $248.00. Did not have the glasses , I put money down on, when I came back they was missing or gone, now I'm trying to find another pair that looks nice on my face also the price is way to high now I can't get my money back only a store credit. They are still looking for the original glasses that I placed my order. Add comment

I went to Bridgewater (400 Commons Way, Suite 354, Bridgewater, NJ). Dr. Michelle Timko had charged us $95 without notifying us and also she is collecting money from my insurance company. I used a $200 Groupon to purchase glasses here. They increased the price of the glasses and frames and never provided a bill. When I returned I asked for a bill and questioned the price. They provided me a bill with the real prices but no description of what was purchased and refused to honor the Groupon. Four weeks ago, I went to the Union Square store at 841 Broadway and had a very bad experience. I called their customer service line (516-465-6975) as I left the store asking for a call back - four weeks ago - and still have not heard back. I paid so much for ***. I went to purchase new glasses and everything was fine. They gave me an eye exam, which she said was free, I ended up paying for, picked out nice frames, with 100$ off, and got the protectant for the lenses, which she said it was free, paid for it too, and at the end, when they were ready, I realized my old glasses were stronger than my new ones. I made an appointment at the Woodbridge Center mall location for 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. Traffic was much heavier than I expected and after driving 40 minutes from East Brunswick I arrived at 2:15.
